Purchase/Repair of Instruments

Brass and wind bands are able to take advantage of a scheme that involves part grant and part interest-free loan toward the provision of instruments. Applications are invited at the end of each calendar year (Form E4) for provision of instruments in the new financial year. Due largely to the costs involved, a relatively small number of bands is able to be assisted each year. However, the scheme has proved itself very worth while over a number of years, particularly in assisting bands to purchase the more expensive instruments.

Allied to this scheme is the strategic provision of percussion and other instruments throughout Wales for the shared use by affiliated societies. The Federation also considers the offer of small grants toward the purchase of keyboards by affiliated societies, often in conjunction with lottery applications.

Claims are invited at the end of each calendar year (Form R4(R)) detailing instrument repairs undertaken during the previous twelve months, and a grant may then be made based upon a percentage of the costs involved. As an increasing number of bands has received lottery assistance, the repair scheme is also intended to make available a pool of good quality instruments for use particularly with junior sections of bands.

Prynu/Atgyweirio offerynnau

Gall bandiau pres a chwyth gymryd mantais o gynllun sy’n darparu grant rhannol a rhan-fenthyciad di-log tuag at brynu offerynnau. Gwahoddir ceisiadau ar ddiwedd pob blwyddyn galendr (Ffurflen E4) er mwyn darparu offerynnau yn y flwyddyn newydd ariannol. O ganlyniad yn bennaf i’r costau sy’n gynwysedig, nifer cymharol fach o fandiau y gellir eu cynorthwyo. Er hynny, profodd y cynllun yn un gwerth chweil dros nifer o flynyddoedd, yn arbennig er mwyn cynorthwyo bandiau i brynu’r offerynnau mwy costus.

Ynghlwm wrth y cynllun hwn mae’r ddarpariaeth strategol o offer taro ac offerynnau eraill dros Gymru gyfan i’w defnyddio ar y cyd gyda chymdeithasau cyswllt. Mae’r Ffederasiwn hefyd yn ystyried cynnig grantiau bach tuag at brynu allweddellau gan gymdeithasu cyswllt, yn aml ar y cyd gyda cheisiadau i’r loteri.

Gwahoddir ceisiadau ar ddiwedd pob blwyddyn galendr (Ffurflen R4(R)) yn amlinellu’r gwaith atgyweirio a wnaed ar offerynnau yn ystod y deuddeg mis blaenorol, ac yna, o bosibl, dyfernir grant yn seiliedig ar ganran o’r costau hynny. Gan fod nifer cynyddol o fandiau wedi derbyn cymorth gan y loteri, bwriedir hefyd i’r cynllun atgyweirio ddarparu cronfa o offerynnau o ansawdd da i’w defnyddio’n benodol gydag adrannau iau'r bandiau hyn.
