Tŷ Cerdd & National Dance Company Wales launch affricerdd: music and dance opportunities for artists of African descent
Tŷ Cerdd (Music Centre Wales) & National Dance Company Wales – in partnership with Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel – are issuing calls to dance artists and music-creators of African descent living and working in Wales.
Tŷ Cerdd’s affricerdd is a strand of Tapestri, a new initiative (funded by Arts Council of Wales’s Connect & Flourish programme) to create a living musical archive of the people, languages and communities of Wales.
AFFRICERDD OPPORTUNITIES
Plethu: affricerdd
5 music-creators will be matched with 5 dance artists to collaborate on a music video of up to 5 minutes’ duration.
Music-creators of any musical genre will be commissioned to create a new work (for any musical forces: instrumental, electronic, etc). The dance artists will choreograph and create a dance film to the musical work.
The commission fee for each of the 10 participating artists is £1,000
– to include any associated costs (eg performers; technical, etc)
Cȃn: affricerdd
5 music-creators of any musical genre will be commissioned to write a new song (in any language), and to create a music video of the new work.
The commission fee for each of the 5 participating artists is £1,000
(NB: an additional bursary of up to £250 each is available towards recording / videography costs.)
