CoDI 2020/21 offers 30 paid development opportunities, alongside a range of professional development interventions from the central CoDI Interact hub. Tŷ Cerdd has celebrated the new chapter for CoDI by commissioning South-Wales-based illustrator Katie Edwards to create a visual representation of our burgeoning community.
This year’s CoDI activity:
Paid pathway for 10 music-creators of any genre (including five 18-25 year-olds) who have not accessed formal, post-school music education. A range of mentors, led by Pwyll ap Siôn CALL EXTENDED TO 6 JULY
Paid opportunity for six composers / music-creators / sound-artists exploring experimental practice. Lead artist collective: Angharad Davies (violin), Rhodri Davies (harp and electronics), Siwan Rhys (piano) shape a pathway that weaves source materials from Tŷ Cerdd archive into avant-garde sound-creation. (Bilingual pathway.)
Paid pathway giving six composers the tools to work confidently with text and narrative. Led by composer Robert Fokkens, writer/dramaturg Sophie Rashbrook, with soprano/composer Sarah Dacey
Paid opportunity for three composers, selected from the 2020 cohort of BBC Composition: Wales – writing new works for performance at St David’s Hall’s new-music series NightMusic.
