During two periods of artistic retreat, 6 lead artists from Wales and beyond – bringing with them range of genres, backgrounds and lived experience – support 8 participating music-creators to explore their own artistic practice through collaboration.
The pathway has 3 parts:
-
Retreat 1 2 days (& nights) in a rural mid-Wales location (near a train station – we’ll help with transport and cover the costs) in which all 14 artists explore their own artistic practice while collaborating with others – with lead artists providing support, advice and inspiration for the participating artists. There’ll be space, food, warmth, comfort, en-suite accommodation – and most importantly artists who want to explore, play and try new things.
-
Remote follow-up sessions with artistic leads in the intervening month by email / Zoom / WhatsApp etc
-
Retreat 2 2 days (1 night) in Cardiff (WMC; hotel accommodation provided) – continued exploration with fellow artists, with potential for recording work in our Tŷ Cerdd Studio.
