Royal Northern Sinfonia is undertaking a fast track recruitment drive, with the aim of having eight key vacancies in the orchestra filled in time for the start of next season. Following the intensive selection process, instead of the usual lengthy trial period, the successful candidate will be offered a full-time contract with the orchestra, to begin in September 2021, with a 12 month probationary period, following the model of the European ‘Probejahr’.
The selection process will involve a digital round, live audition, orchestral audition, interview, chamber music and a digital performance project.
Applications are particularly encouraged from Black, Asian and ethnically diverse classical musicians.
We are establishing a travel fund to help with audition travel expenses, for those otherwise unable to travel, and will publish further details of this in due course.
