Cwmwl Tystion / Witness
TCR029

Suite o gerddoriaeth yw Cwmwl Tystion, a gyfansoddwyd gan Tomos Williams, sy’n dathlu ac yn cwestiynu’r syniad o beth mae’n ei olygu i uniaethu fel Cymro/Cymraes. Fe’i recordiwyd yn fyw yng Nghanolfan Gelf Taliesin, Abertawe a Café OTO, Llundain ym mis Mehefin 2019, mewn perfformiadau a roddwyd gan grŵp o gerddorion o Gymru a ffurfiwyd yn arbennig.

Cwmwl Tystion is a suite of music, composed by Tomos Williams, which celebrates and questions the idea of Welshness. It was recorded live at Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea and Café OTO, London in June 2019, in performances given by a specially formed group of Welsh musicians.

Daw'r enw 'Cwmwl Tystion' o waith un o feirdd pennaf Cymru, Waldo Williams, a bydd y gerddoriaeth yn 'tystio' i'r oes sydd ohoni.
The name 'Cwmwl Tystion' is derived from a poem by the great Welsh poet Waldo Williams - the music "bares witness" to these complex and difficult times.
