We are delighted to announce the latest CoDi programme – following generous funding support from Arts Council of Wales and PRS Foundation (by whom we have been announced as one of a UK-wide 78-strong Talent Development Network).
CoDI 25/26 features paid, artist-led pathways, alongside interact, a suite of workshops and training.
Pathway to the Orchestra – Over a series of one-to-one mentoring sessions with composer Lynne Plowman – plus supplementary resources and sessions from Tŷ Cerdd and project partners BBC National Orchestra of Wales – four music-creators will receive bespoke training and skill-development in writing for orchestral instruments (clarinet, violin, cello and piano.)
Côr – This programme offers five Welsh music-creators the opportunity to develop skills in writing new, distinctive work for community choir, with mentor Nathan James Dearden and Côr ABC.
Off-Grid is for anyone in Wales working with sound and music in experimental and expanded ways. Since 2018, Off-Grid has developed a network of artists across Wales, sharing practice in regularly on-line and in-person events; including performances, conferences, gatherings and workshops.
Bwthyn Sonig – enabling learning-disabled artists to develop skills and express original music; with a special strand of accessible club nights.
Medal y Cyfansoddwr – Medal y Cyfansoddwr – a pathway offering three composers a paid opportunity to write for a chamber ensemble from Sinfonia Cymru. Performances are given at the National Eisteddfod and the winning entry is awarded Medal y Cyfansoddwr.
interact includes Music Industry 101 (skills sharing and training sessions) plus workshops and networking for music-creators.
The 25/26 CoDI programme is made possible through generous financial support from Arts Council of Wales and PRS Foundation's Talent Development Network.
