Emma Daman Thomas 1983

Emma Daman Thomas is a musician and artist based in rural Powys. She’s a founding member of the experimental pop band Islet where she sings and plays drums, bass, keys.

Formed in Cardiff in 2009, Islet have released three albums, a handful of EPs and have toured and played festivals from the UK to South Korea. On their 2020 album ‘Eyelet’ (Fire Records) Emma moved into focus as lead singer, with subjects drawing on race, grief and motherhood.

She is a Keychange 2020 participant, and a recipient of the PRS Foundation Women Make Music award. Outside of music Emma designs artwork for music (Islet, Gwenno).
