Gareth Treseder 1985

Gareth Treseder is a singer and composer who studied at the University of Bristol and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He has since been made an Honorary Associate of the RWCMD in recognition of his musical achievements.

Gareth composes chiefly sacred choral works, several of which have been published by Boosey & Hawkes. His setting of William Wordsworth’s The Minstrels, commissioned and premiered by the BBC Singers, was subsequently recorded for the BBC Music Magazine CD released in December 2017. His setting of Le sommeil de l’Enfant Jesu (alongside the self-penned performance translation The sleep of the Infant Jesus) was written to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in aid of the Choirs Against Cancer initiative, and will be performed across the UK in 2018.
