James first started performing in public at the age of eleven when he was invited by the National Symphony Orchestra of London to play solo violin to an audience of five thousand at Cardiff International Arena (video below).

James performed at the BBC Proms In The Park when he was fourteen. A year later, he supported Dave Swarbrick on Dave’s last tour. Shortly after finishing his GCSEs, James released an EP of jazz standards on the violin (Spotify link below).

During the pandemic, James collaborated with Nigerian singer, Olawale Ojo on an album, Grit, Gravel & Gold. Last year, James produced and released his first pop EP, Landscapes, infused with jazz and world music, singing for the first time. He was also awarded gold at the China-UK International Music Festival winning his category of over-23s (all instruments), competing on the ukulele.
