John Hosking 1976

John Hosking is Assistant Director of Music at St. Asaph Cathedral. A graduate of the Royal College of Music, John held the Organ Scholarship at Westminster Abbey from 1996-99, playing on many Royal and State occasions.

A busy recitalist, he made his solo recital debut at Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris in 2015. He has a duo partnership with early music soprano, Olivia Hunt, with whom he will release a CD in conjunction with Naxos later in 2018.

​

As a composer, John has received commissions from Cathedrals and music festivals throughout the UK. A complete recording of his liturgical choral works was made by the Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge with the Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir for Regent Records. His “14 Stations of the Cross” for organ, commissioned as part of Sebastian Thomson’s “Angels of Creation” series has been recorded for Convivium Records and was selected as “Editor’s Choice” in the “Organists’ Review” magazine.
