Lenny Sayers 1977

Originally from Keighley, West Yorkshire, Lenny Sayers is a clarinettist and composer based in Cardiff, and since 2011 has held the position of Principal Bass Clarinet with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He studied at the University of York and the Royal Northern College of Music. His compositions are featured on recordings by the Fell Clarinet Quartet, Intriplicate Trio and the Sterling Trio, and his music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Scotland. In 2016 his composition ‘Severn Blue’ was selected to be in BBC NOW’s Composition Wales project. He has written a number of works specifically for education and outreach work and concerts for children, and since 2017 his compositions have regularly featured in BBC NOW’s Family Concerts.
