Thomas Haslehurst 1994
Thomas Haslehurst is a North Wales born composer and musician based in Cardiff. Throughout his studies at university Thomas was an active member of the School of Music as both a composer and performer, regularly performing with a variety of orchestras and ensembles, collaborating with performers on new compositions and co-conducting Cardiff University Strings for two years.
Thomas was a finalist for the European String Teachers Association Young Composer of the Year 2015 competition (senior category), and in early 2017 was asked to write a new work for their ESTA String Day in Cardiff focusing on advanced string techniques. In Autumn 2016 Thomas took part in the Signum Quartet’s #Quartweet project where his Introduction and Allegro was premiered at the National Museum Wales, during their Cardiff residency.
Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2017 before undertaking a Masters in Composition at the School of Music, where he recently received his Master of Arts.
