Eve Goodman
Eve Goodman grew up in North Wales, and has had a deep relationship with singing and sounding for as long as she can remember. Eve writes and performs in both Welsh and English. Having spent much of her childhood feeling things deeply, music became a way to give voice to her inner landscape, allowing her to express herself in a reflective and honest way. “Music is like a portal to my emotions, a way of transmuting and transcribing them.” Influenced by the artistry of intuitive solo voices like Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake and Adrienne Lenker, Eve combines honest lyricism with mesmerising musical hooks and patterns. Inspired by nature and the more-than-human world, her songs connect deeply to our inner and outer landscapes. In the last few years Eve has released a solo EP, dived into a year-long study of ritual singing and improvisation, performed internationally, and featured on Bryn Terfel’s new album Sea Songs with two duets in both Welsh and Breton. Her forthcoming debut album, a collection of songs about grief, will be released on 15 November 2024.

Louise Amery
I'm Deputy Director at Aberystwyth Arts Centre, a creative home and national arts hub for the people of Aberystwyth, Mid Wales and beyond. We’re one of Wales’s best-known venues, presenting everything from live music concerts, stand-up comedy, theatre and dance performances to visual art exhibitions and film screenings. We’re also home to the largest community engagement programme in Wales. Our spaces include a 900-seater concert hall, 300-seater theatre and a 100-seater studio. We're part of Aberystwyth University and are at the heart of the Uni campus, with stunning views overlooking beautiful Cardigan Bay and with the backdrop of the Cambrian mountains. I look after the music programme, among lots of other responsibilities, and trained in music back in the day – I also conduct a local choir and can often be found playing in orchestra pits for shows!

Martin Hoyland
Martin has been touring the world, and releasing music since touring Germany at 14 years of age in the 80’s. Playing with bands across many different genres, Martin now finds himself in the genre-defying, award-winning grwp Cymraeg 9Bach, who he formed alongside vocalist and BAFTA award winner Lisa Jên in 2005. 9Bach first played WOMEX in Copenhagen 2010, and again in Cardiff 2013, with many European festivals following. 9Bach have been working hard in collaboration with Andy Gangadeen, on creating a new upbeat, electronic sound, which is soon to be revealed, and are primarily looking for management and a live agent Martin is also a founding member of Globalheads, who put on a monthly night of Global Beats DJ’s and Live Artists in Caernarfon, North Wales, which is on tour routes from Manchester, Liverpool and Dublin in the UK. Martin is excited to discover this year’s WOMEX showcase artists.
Reb Sutton
Reb (They/Them) is a multi-disciplinary singer, producer and theatre-maker. Coming from a mixed Roma and low-income background, as well as being an invisibly disabled person, has led to them experiencing barriers to access to the arts and has pushed them to focus on fairer futures and better access for all. Starting the punk band Dirty Revolution in 2008, and taking them from playing small independent venues to multiple UK tours, international airplay, headline festival slots and a Radio 1 session at Maida Vale Studios, Reb gained notoriety within the very CIS-Male dominated Punk scene, yet never felt that they belonged. Taking on new projects (Inanna Meets the Dawn, The ProTopian, Later Records) with a focus on community and impact, they decided to use their lived experience to platform and collaborate with artists from underrepresented genders, genres and ethnicities. This included creating a residency for under-represented artists, and taking over an empty shopping centre to create an art-space centred around identity and lost Matriarchal histories. Recent activity includes work with the Roma community, mentoring young musicians from under-represented genders, writing an album about ProTopian Theory, and challenging sexism, ageism, ableism and racism within the arts.
Reem Muhammed
I’m all about supporting local talent and fueling the creative scene! As one of the co-founders of Foxy Roxies, my friends and I get to film live music sessions, throw incredible events, and collaborate with local platforms to shine a spotlight on the best homegrown artists. I also work with both Beacons and Horizons, two fantastic initiatives dedicated to championing local musicians. You can catch me weekly on Radio Cardiff, where I host my own show, and I regularly pop up on BBC Radio Wales with Adam Walton to showcase exciting new artists. I founded and developed Diff Radio, an online station that’s shaping up to be Wales's answer to Rinse FM. I’ve been working hard on crafting the station’s schedule and getting the word out through promo—really tapping into the heart of Wales’s music industry. On top of that, I’m part of the Black Action Group, where we push forward community-focused projects, and I also contribute as a board member for It’s My Shout.
