Peter Reynolds, composer and writer, was a dear friend to Tŷ Cerdd, and held the position of vice-Chair when he died suddenly in October 2016.

We were touched to learn that he made a bequest to us of the income from his writings and performances – which, significantly includes his programme notes. Peter was undoubtedly Wales’s busiest programme-note writer, and many performing groups, festivals and venues used him regularly. His library of notes and composer biographies is extensive – from symphonic repertoire to chamber works, from Handel to Hoddinott, and we’re very pleased to be able to make them available to our members and the wider arts sector.

 

Peter’s bequest intended that the income from these notes, and from performances of his work, be invested in our charitable aims, so we’re pleased to be putting the income straight back into the promotion of Welsh music. Tŷ Cerdd members will receive a preferential rate of £10 to reprint a note, while the fee per reprint for non-members is £30.
