Elaine Mitchener MBE is a British Afro-Caribbean vocalist, movement artist and composer working between contemporary/experimental new music, free improvisation and visual art. She is a Wigmore Hall Associate Artist (2021-26); a DAAD Artist Fellow (2022); and is an exhibiting artist in the British Art Show 9’s current touring exhibition. Elaine is founder of the collective electroacoustic trio The Rolling Calf (with Jason Yarde and Neil Charles).

Festival appearances and artists she has performed and collaborated with include Donaueschinger Musiktage, George E. Lewis, Tansy Davies, Baremboim-Said Akademie, Klangforum Wien, Jennifer Walshe, Hannah Kendall, Darmstadt, London Contemporary Music Festival, Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother), Christian Marclay, The Otolith Group, Mark Padmore, Black Top, Royal Opera House, Hamid Drake, November Music, Katie Mitchell, Ensemble Klang, Laure M. Hiendl, Savvy Contemporary, Sons d’Hiver, Van Huynh Company, Sonia Boyce, Apartment House, David Toop, London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Manufaktur für aktuelle Musik (MAM), William Parker and Saul Williams.
