Join Tŷ Cerdd, Black Lives in Music and TÂN Cerdd at Chapter for a day celebrating Black, Asian and Multi-Ethnicity musicians in Wales – and working together on removing barriers.
12 artists – some solo, some with bands, from a range of genres – will perform in three showcase slots, and central to the event will be an action-focused symposium.
If you’re part of the Welsh music sector, we need you there – change can’t happen without your voice in the room!
Tickets are free (and include lunch and light refreshments), but numbers are restricted – so if you sign up, we want you to stay all day!

ARTISTS
Bragod (Mary-Anne Roberts and Robert Evans) explores the performance of Welsh medieval music and poetry through experiment and imagination, using original instruments and sources. Mary-Anne Roberts from Trinidad mines her carnival, storytelling, dance and theatre backgrounds to sing poetry audaciously while dancing the binary patterns of ancient Welsh music. Robert Evans, plays the crwth, a medieval bowed lyre which he has revived.
EADYTH are a bilingual duo from Merthyr Tydfil, making waves in the alternative rock scene with a sound that fuses grunge, heavy rock, nu metal, and progressive electro rock grooves with soulful undertones. Fronted by Eady Crawford—who serves as producer, songwriter, lead singer, and rhythm guitarist—the band is completed by Rhodri Foxhall, the lead guitarist and co-songwriter, whose dynamic guitar work adds depth to their music.
Jessika Kay is a multi-genre artist from Cardiff. Mainly focusing on R&B and Neo-Soul, she uses her soulful and ethereal vocals and lyrics to connect with people all over the world. Since beginning her journey in 2023, Jessika Kay has already proven herself as an adept performer with masses of personality.
Since his explosive entrance onto the scene with Best Believe in January 2021 and his Welsh Music Prize-nominated debut album Boy from the South, Newport-born ManLikeVision has garnered attention up and down the country and has instantly become known for his ability to jump on pretty much any beat, any tempo, any stage, and deliver a performance that rivals that of some of the most heralded emcees in the country.
May Swoon is the experimental electronic project of Nigerian-Welsh cyberpunk solo act Neo Ukandu. Proudly performing their signature style of 80s-inspired maximalist, avant-garde synth-pop, and no-wave style post-punk in places such as Bristol, London, and Cardiff, May Swoon brings to life their creative voice through anthems of self-acceptance and queer identity.
Samantha is a funk, soul, afrobeats singer/songwriter based in Cardiff. She takes inspiration from artists including Childish Gambino, Greentea Peng, Erykah Badu, Daft Punk and so many more, to create her own sound.
Simmy Singh is an Earth Activist violinist and composer from Wales whose mission is to merge the power of music and nature connection in order to reconnect people to themselves, each other and the natural world. A wide-ranging career has included co-founding Manchester Collective, and playing with a wide range of artists and ensembles. She is Creative Associate of Sinfonia Cymru, and has recently received an Arts Council of Wales “Future Wales Fellowship”, which gives eight artists in Wales the opportunity to explore how art helps connection to nature.
Thalia Ellice is a dynamic singer-songwriter who blends Alt-R&B and Pop, crafting a sound that resonates with listeners on a deep emotional level. Her music is rooted in personal life-experiences, exploring themes such as love, identity, and resilience. With soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Thalia invites her audience to connect with her journey through powerful storytelling and unforgettable melodies.
Xempa is a new music project fronted by Welsh artist The Honest Poet. Blending soul, R&B, spoken word and hip hop, Xempa emanate a refreshing, raw and very powerful new sound.
A recent graduate with a Master's in Vocal Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Yingzi Song was born and raised in China. She has a passion for connecting and showcasing Welsh and Chinese cultures through music. Yingzi became the first Chinese prize winner at the National Eisteddfod in Wales. In addition to her active involvement on operatic stages, she is also growing her popularity on concert stages across Wales and China.
Zero Mile's voyage began in India, where they immersed themselves in its deep musical traditions. Amruta, a versatile Indian classical singer skilled in harmonium and tanpura, enriches Zero Mile (who are Amruta, Jo, Richard and Pete) with Indian music genres. Through their performances, Zero Mile seamlessly blend Eastern and Western influences.
Zoila Garman is a Latin-American singer with a creative soul. Her rhythms are a mixture of Reggaeton, Afrobeats, and R&B originating from her mother's country, Dominican Republic. She hosts a show on Radio Cardiff every Saturday at 1pm – an entertaining and motivational discovery of new artists and Afro-Latino rhythms. Her passion for music is contagious and her voice is powerful and melodic.
