Sing for Pleasure is delighted to open applications for its acclaimed Young Conducting Scholarship 2025–26 on Friday 29 August.
This specially-designed, year-long programme offers promising young musicians aged 18–25 funded places on our courses, plus one-to-one mentoring and support to further develop their skills.
We are grateful to all our current members, who support the Young Conductors fund, enabling scholars to improve their skills and develop their work with choirs, building confidence, networks and aspiration to inspire and lead with excellence. (If you’re interested in supporting this work, we’d be delighted to hear from you – marketing@singforpleasure.org.uk).
Sing for Pleasure is committed to increasing representation of conductors and vocal leaders from global majority backgrounds in the UK choral leadership. Each year, we aim to offer at least two scholarships for aspiring conductors and vocal leaders from global majority backgrounds, supporting access to our training programmes and wider community.
The deadline for submitting applications is midnight on Saturday 4 October, with the first group training weekend taking place in Manchester on 1 and 2 November; subsequent training dates (which candidiates must be free to attend) are:
14–15 Feb: London Weekend
30–31 May: West Midlands Weekend (date TBC)
8–15 Aug: Sumer School 2024
DEADLINE: 04.10.25
